2022 Buffalo Trace Antique Collection
Acquired June 2026
Not the ten-year on today's shelves; the other ones. The seventeen-year from the Antique Collection, the Double Eagle in its glass case, and the old 101-proof bottles from decades back. Those eagles have a standing buyer here, and yours may be worth more than you'd guess.
Age statement and era do the heavy lifting. Eagle Rare 17 is priced release by release, and its older 90-proof years behave differently from the recent 101-proof ones. The dusty Eagle Rare 101s from decades past are their own category, where fill level and label condition can outweigh everything else. None of that folds neatly into a table, and we won't pretend otherwise.
What works instead: one clear photo of the label and one of the fill line. A real buyer looks at both, usually the same day, and hands you a number for your bottle specifically. It's free whether or not you take it.
Five seventeen-year Eagle Rares have crossed this table across three separate buys, sitting below with their dates. We publish what we purchase precisely so a page like this can't be all talk.

The current shelf version, no; it's in steady production and doesn't clear the bar for a fair offer from us. The exception is age: 101-proof Eagle Rare from the older eras is a genuine dusty we're always glad to see, hang tag or not. If you're unsure which side yours falls on, send the photo; sorting that out costs you nothing.
Seven more years in the warehouse and a once-a-year release through Buffalo Trace's Antique Collection. It's among the oldest age-stated bourbons in any annual lineup, allocation is thin, and every vintage stays in demand. If your label says seventeen, you're holding the collectible one.
Bother. Old bottles give a little to the angels through the cork and buyers know it; what matters is how much, and how the bottle presents overall. Photograph it standing upright with the fill line visible and we'll give you a real answer instead of a guess. Plenty of the dusties we've bought were not perfect.
A twenty-year expression Buffalo Trace releases in tiny numbers inside a sealed glass case, essentially Eagle Rare's trophy edition. We bought one in its case and would happily buy the next. If yours still has the case and paperwork, photograph everything together; the presentation is part of the story on this one.
